Purpose

This unit applies to persons who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation or oxygen therapy in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.

Duration

Course code: HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (includes HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

Course Length: 4.5 – 5 hours Course Pack and pre-course online component to be completed prior to the class

Course Audience: This unit applies to persons who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation or oxygen therapy in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.

  • HLTAID015 PROVIDE ADVANCED RESUSCITATION AND OXYGEN THERAPY & PROVIDE CPR: $160.00 AUD paid by Student (upfront payment)

Entry requirements

HLTAID011 Provide first aid is required. A copy of the Statement of Attainment must be provided prior to course commencement (will be verified for authenticity)

Assessment requirement

It is a mandatory assessment requirement in all CPR / first aid courses that participants demonstrate CPR on the floor, not on an elevated surface. To be assessed as competent in this course you must be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor as well as demonstrating the Recovery Position. If you have an injury that limits your ability to adequately demonstrate CPR or the recovery position you may attend the course and be issued a non-accredited Statement of Attendance.

“Rev” the super dog and “The Rescue Squad” are ready to teach children in Grades 3-6 the basics of First Aid. Children will also receive a certificate, a wordsearch and a colouring-in activity to colour in Rev the super dog.
