Purpose

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
This course will also update the skills and knowledge of a Nurse Immuniser to respond adverse event following immunisation (AEFI).

Duration

3 hours face to face – face to face delivery and assessment. Online enrolment required prior to course.

Assessment requirement

All assessment tasks will be completed during your session, this will include:
* Completion of Course Pack
* Demonstration of CPR
* Participate of role play/scenario
* Multiple choice theory assessment

Demonstration of CPR Compressions -It is a mandatory assessment requirement in all CPR / first aid courses that participants demonstrate CPR on the floor, not on an elevated surface. To be assessed as competent in this course you must be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor. If you have an injury that limits your ability to adequately demonstrate CPR, you may attend the course and be issued a non-accredited Statement of Attendance.

Join our First Aid incursions for students with The Rescue Squad!

“Rev” the super dog and “The Rescue Squad” are ready to teach children in Grades 3-6 the basics of First Aid. Children will also receive a certificate, a wordsearch and a colouring-in activity to colour in Rev the super dog.
